Last year, Assistance League® of Las Vegas (a 100 percent volunteer organization) served over 52,954 children in need!

Operation School Bell®, a program of Assistance League of Las Vegas, has been in existence for over 37 years! Operation School Bell served over 8,500 school children last year. At a cost of $75 per child, our experienced and creative buyers purchase stylish, durable clothing that allow the children we serve to feel more like their peers.  Each child personally selects, with the help of a trained volunteer, zippered hoodie, two complete outfits, new athletic shoes, underwear, socks, book, blanket, school supplies and personal grooming products. For many of these children, this is the first time they have ever shopped for new clothes.

Not having appropriate clothing for school makes it extremely difficult for children to concentrate and feel good about themselves. The smiles on their faces as they leave our facility to return to their classrooms encourage us to work even harder to help more children.  The need is great and your help is appreciated!

We partner with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas Nevada. They identify the children most in need and transport them to and from our facility.

AL’s Closet, a program of Assistance League of Las Vegas, provides emergency clothing and supplies to over 2100 children at 47 schools. The school counselor has access to new clothing and shoes in an on site closet to provide for a child in need. School counselors have expressed their gratitude to help a child the same day they see they need.

Las Vegas has the country’s fifth largest school district and has 230 Title I schools, designated as such when the majority of the students are at risk of failure and are living at or near poverty level.  The children we serve all come from Title I schools.

Community Programs, a program of Assistance League of Las Vegas, supplied 26 agencies with 4320 teddy bears to comfort children experiencing a crisis last year. They also supplied 1621 layette sets that included numerous handmade baby blankets to infants born into poverty last year. Our newest program is Hope High- providing food gift cards, bus passes, sleeping bags, and towels to high schoolers in need.

The Kids on the Block, another program of Assistance League of Las Vegas, performed skits on relevant topics such as divorce, bullying, disabilities etc. for over 6500 third grade children at 49 schools last year.
