Altered Tails

What began in 2003 as a small nonprofit organization housed in a spare bedroom of a dedicated volunteer's home has now become Arizona's largest nonprofit spay/neuter clinic. Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic is the only Humane Alliance accredited spay/neuter clinic in Arizona. Humane Alliance is a nationally acclaimed organization in Asheville, North Carolina and considered to be the expert in providing clinical training programs for high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter clinics.

Through the generosity of donors like you, in 2013 Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic opened a second clinic in Mesa. 

In our short 10-year history, we have sterilized over 100,000 animals and have prevented the births of over 1,000,000 animals many of whom would have been stray, unwanted, and probably euthanized. 

Throughout the change and growth of the organization, our mission has remained constant:

Provide accessible and affordable, high quality spay/neuter services for companion animals and free roaming cats. Our vision is to eliminate euthanasia as a means of animal population control.
