Amani ya Juu, meaning “higher peace” in Swahili, is a place where women from over ten African nations and cultures are learning to work together through faith in God who provides a higher peace that transcends cultural and ethnic differences. In the face of conflict and poverty, these are women who have regained stability and then respond by scattering seeds of peace in their homes, communities and nations.
Women working at Amani produce beautiful products with local African materials in a peaceful, nurturing work environment.
Amani is a self-sustaining project through the sales of products our wide selection of uniquely designed high-quality handbags, home & kitchen décor, jewelry, and children’s items. Each sale of a product provides marginalized women a chance to sustain a consistent income and sustains the growth and development of the centers in Africa. Check out our products in our online shop at www.amaniafrica.org/shop.
Donations are an important part of Amani's work. They allow Amani to bring peace holistically--heart, mind, body, and spirit. Donations provide English classes to a refugee woman, sewing machines to new trainees, peace-building camp programs for children and youth, and the establishment and training of new centers.
There are many ways to join the Amani family. Buy products online. Become a US Retail Volunteer selling in your community (www.amaniafrica.org/volunteer). Donate directly to a specific need. Or help fundraise for special projects. The impact of your gift is lasting peace!
