Over the course of the summer, we served 25 new clients in DC and MD with criminal and civil legal needs. 

These clients primarily came through our growing list of partnerships with local organizations.

 

 Over the summer, we also trained 7 new local organizations on how to identify survivors of sex trafficking.

These trainings have resulted in greater client identification and referrals.

Amara recognizes that while there are different paths that lead a person into commercial sex, many individuals face a common set of legal issues. Amara serves survivors of sex trafficking and any other individual harmed by commercial sex in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

We are committed to raising public awareness of the legal issues facing our clients, to connecting our clients with other vital social services, and to fighting tirelessly to provide excellent legal representation to all of our clients.
