American Furniture Masters Institute

Founded in 1993, the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association, and its 501(c)3 arm, the American Furniture Masters Institute, are dedicated to preserving, promoting and expanding the art and craft of fine furniture making in the US.  

Starting with a handful of members, we now have 30 members who are all Masters of furniture making, and who all teach, write, lecture, and educate, as well as exhibit, make and sell.  We are from different backgrounds, approach the craft from odd angles, and yet find we have much common ground in our fundamental belief that making fine furniture is a craft that needs to be preserved.  We currently run the programs in the state prison systems in NH and ME, and have a mentor program for younger artists.
