American Mural Project "Main"

$800 raised by 9 donors

AMP doesn’t look like a typical field trip—it feels like a turning point.

Every year, we welcome students who might not otherwise get the chance to step inside a place like the American Mural Project. Many come from right here in our community, carrying curiosity, but also uncertainty about where they fit and what’s possible for them. And then something shifts.

They walk into the mural space—this massive, vibrant tribute to work in America—and suddenly they’re surrounded by electricians, pilots, welders, engineers, farmers. Real people. Real jobs. Real stories. Not abstract ideas, but tangible futures.

You can see it happen in real time. A student who’s been quiet all morning starts asking questions. Someone else points to a figure in the mural and says, “I didn’t know that was a job.” Another begins to imagine themselves in a role they’ve never seen represented before.

Summer @AMP and AMP Field Trips are about more than exposure—it’s about connection. Through guided experiences, storytelling, and hands-on exploration, kids begin to see the dignity and creativity in all kinds of work. They leave not just inspired, but with a broader sense of what their own path could be.

For many of these kids, this visit is made possible through community support. It removes a barrier and opens a door—sometimes the first one.

When you give, you’re not just funding a visit. You’re creating a moment where a young person sees themselves differently. Where possibility feels real.

This Giving Day, we invite you to help open that door. A gift of any size can bring a student to AMP this year—covering transportation, admission, and programming that makes the experience meaningful.

Join us in making sure more young people have the chance to step into possibility.
