American Warrior Association

The American Warrior Association is a Fort Worth-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is focused on restoring hope and renewing purpose in first responders, military, and veterans. Our Nation’s unselfish servants represent the bedrock of our society, yet the toll of prolonged exposure to operational stress and trauma is undeniable. Our heroes are experiencing soul-level damage after violating their moral code, leading to moral injury and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). As a result, shame, guilt, and isolation creep in that traditional clinical care often misses. This has led to alarming rates of mental health challenges, addiction, and suicide. The wounds you can't see are claiming lives. It’s estimated that 22 Veteran suicides take place each day and more first responders are dying by suicide than in the line of duty. We refuse to let this be the legacy of those who give so much. During the entire month of September, in accordance with Suicide Prevention Month, the American Warrior Association is seeking your support to help our heroes heal, build spiritual strength and resilience, and continue serving their communities with purpose.
