Among Friends, A Dementia Social Respite Program

Among Friends is a social respite program for individuals with memory loss and their caregivers, serving residents of St. Croix and Pierce Counties.  Our program provides a safe, supportive, and stimulating atmosphere that enhances participants' quality of life through one-on-one interactions with trained staff and volunteers, through appropriate exercise, music, and special activities appealing to participants' past experiences and current abilities.  We provide healthy snacks and lunches.  Conversation, art, games, dog therapy, and other activities are part of our programming.  Just as important is the respite Among Friends provides for caregivers who need to refresh and renew themselves, allowing them time for a walk in the park or lunch with old friends, running errands or meeting appointments, or just having time alone.
