An Achievable Dream (AAD) develops independent, productive citizens through a Social, Academic, and Mindset Education (SAME). 

Rooted in the belief that all children can learn and succeed regardless of their background, AAD works to level the playing field by providing the opportunities and supports students need to succeed in school and in life. Through a unique public‑private partnership, AAD jointly operates four schools with Newport News and Virginia Beach City Public Schools.

This whole‑child approach combines rigorous academics with social‑emotional learning, soft‑skill development, and critical wraparound services. Students also benefit from expanded field trips and hands‑on learning experiences, as well as career and workforce readiness programming and post‑secondary guidance, scholarships, and support beyond graduation.

The results speak for themselves: 

• 100% on‑time graduation rate since the first graduating class in 2001.
• 99% of 1,100+ graduates are enrolled in or have completed college or trade school, serve in the military, and/or are in the workforce.
• 100% of AAD Academies fully accredited, with academic performance exceeding state averages.
