The Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) is a nonprofit organization seeking to return the Anacostia River to a swimable and fishable condition in accordance with the Clean Water Act.

AWS fulfills this commitment by offering a variety of environmental advocacy, education, recreation and stewardship programs to and in partnership with local watershed communities.
