Anawakalmekak /Semillas Sociedad Civil a 501c3 org

Semillas Sociedad Civil is an indigenous community-based nonprofit educational organization that organizes youth, parents and educators to advance self-determination, sovereignty and human rights as Indigenous Peoples through autonomous education and advocacy.

Anawakalmekak is dedicated to student academic excellence, Native wisdom, and appreciation of the cultural and intellectual heritage of Indigenous Peoples and the promotion of positive social awareness.

How can we promote indigenous youth to live, lead and dream?

Currently, five campaigns are underway to support this vision.

1. Somos Semillas Legal Defense Fund: donate to help protect the educational and cultural rights of our students and families to culturally relevant, relational and responsive education though Anawakalmekak. 

2. WeSpeak: donate to help defend the revitalization and revindication of Nahuatl through school to school, community to community, and student to student community building between Anawakalmekak and allied schools and institutions of higher education in Los Angeles and in Mexico.

3. Danza Azteca Performing Arts Fund:  donate to support the expansion of cultural performing arts at Anawakalmekak by supporting needed repairs and replacement of traditional musical equipment and regalia, travel coasts to presentation s and stipends for guest instructors or speakers that expand the students' learning about and through traditional performing arts. 

4.SINTLI -  Seeds of Indigenous Nations and Tribes Leadership Institute and Youth Summit: donate to support the 5th annual International Indigenous Youth Summit organized to engage Indigenous Youth from across California to learn and organize around the United Nations Declarations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. 

5. Semillitas to Sembradores Fund:  donate to support excellence in the classroom for Anawakalmekak International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program from grades TK-5. Support additional TA's in the classroom, enrichment instructors and language teachers which make Anawakalmekak an amazing place to be a Semillita!
