Andean Textile Arts, Inc

The traditional textile arts of the Andes and the way of life that they depend on were all but lost in the 20th century. Andean Textile Arts is an organization dedicated to supporting the people and communities of the Andes in their efforts to preserve and revitalize their textile traditions.      

Since its inception, Andean Textile Arts has served as a support organization for the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco (CTTC), a Peruvian non-profit organization.

With your help, our work supports  education programs for young weavers,  business and marketing education for adult artisans, cultural revitalization to help recover lost or endangered techniques, and education of the worldwide textile arts community to build appreciation and demand for traditional Andean textiles. Since 2010, we have also helped sponsor Tinkuy, a gathering that brings together indigenous and other weavers from around the world to share their textile techniques and to learn new skills that help them improve the lives of their families and communities.
