Angel Charity for Children is an all-volunteer organization of dedicated women and men who believe that together with many generous donors in our community, we can make a difference in the lives of the children in Pima County.

Angel Charity has raised over $22 million dollars to benefit more than 55 different agencies. These dollars have been used to construct new buildings, renovate and expand old ones, fund scientific research, retire mortgages and support much needed programs.  Over ONE  million children have benefited from the services that Angel Charity and our donors have funded over the years.

Angel Charity for Children, Inc. was founded by a mother motivated to ensure that her child’s short life would have a special meaning.  In 1982, after losing her nine year old son Michael to cancer, Louise Thomas invited Jane Loew Sharples to help her form a new organization with a mission to improve the lives of children in Pima County, Arizona.  Together, they recruited 100 individuals – all volunteers, community and business leaders, and friends — who believed in this cause and were willing to make it happen.  The initial challenge for this newly formed organization was to raise $205,000, a very daunting task in 1983, to retire the mortgage on the Ronald McDonald House. Not only was the mortgage retired that first year, but the Ronald McDonald House was partially remodeled and expanded.
