Animal Based Charities

Animal Based Charities, Inc is a nonprofit that is dedicated to helping Tampa Bay area pet rescue groups with adoptions, medical and pet needs. Since 2009, ABC has been hosting adoption events that have resulted in local pet rescue groups getting over 5,200 pets adopted (and, after each adoption, these wonderful rescue groups pull another pet from a shelter).  Additionally, ABC has donated 221,000 pounds of pet food and countless carriers/crates, supplies, toys, etc., to these groups.  Although the amount varies all the time, just in the first quarter of 2018 ABC provided $1,650 to local rescue groups for medical and other assistance, in addition to the other items given to them.

In addition to your donation, you can continue supporting us by visiting our Thrift Store, which is run by an all-volunteer staff.  Every item in the store is donated and all proceeds go toward our mission.  The store is located at 4465 W. Gandy Blvd., Suite 315, Tampa.  It is behind YouFit and faces Oakellar.  Hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday, 10:00am to 4:00pm.
