Animal Care and Assistance Fund (ACAF)

A nonprofit organization

Animal Care & Assistance Fund (ACAF) provides families with an alternative to euthanasia or a life of suffering for their beloved pet. We recognize the dynamic bond between families and their furry companions --we offer hope when there is nowhere else to turn. We are saving pets' lives in the Pittsburgh area by offering pet owners, in financial crisis, an alternative to euthanasia, when their pet faces a treatable, yet life-threatening condition. We are proudly affiliated with Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center (PVSEC). Taking your pet to a specialist or an emergency center can be quite costly. Our fund was established to alleviate that burden for qualifying families who need assistance with their pet's care. We believe that no family should have to make a decision about saving their pet based on the cost of care.

Formed in 2008, Animal Care and Assistance Fund (ACAF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists qualifying family-owned pets in the greater Pittsburgh region who need emergency or specialty care at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty Emergency Center (PVSEC). Your donation to ACAF supports a plethora of programs: Emergency Care, Cancer Care, Oral Care, Cardiac Care, and Eye Care for both cats and dogs.
