Each year, ARC supports the relocation of dozens of cats
through our barn cat relocation program. These independent outdoor cats are
often displaced when their home is no longer safe and cannot be returned
to their original trapping location. Often wary of human interaction, these
cats need little care in their desired new home: just food, water and shelter. Unfortunately,
there’s not a waitlist for these cats and they’re often in ARC’s care for several
weeks or months. That’s why we’re creating the ARC Barn Cat Boot Camp shelter—a
safe, temporary home where these resilient cats can wait for their new outdoor
sanctuary.

The Need for a Shelter

As much as we wish every outdoor cat had a safe place to
call home, the reality is that many are displaced in the most difficult of
circumstances. Whether it’s due to the loss of their home through new construction
or being left behind by previous owners, these cats often have nowhere to go
and cannot be returned after being trapped by our cat wrangler volunteer team.

Currently, our volunteers work tirelessly to care for these
cats while they wait in holding crates for new homes, but they deserve better!
The ARC Barn Cat Boot Camp shelter will provide the much-needed space, comfort, and
enrichment these cats need while waiting for a new home.

How You Can Help

Building a shelter isn’t an easy task, it requires funds for
materials, labor, and resources to ensure that every cat has a comfortable,
enriching space to call their temporary home. But with your help, we can make
this dream a reality. Your
contribution will directly fund:

  • Safe,
    weather-resistant shelters
for the cats to rest and feel secure.

  • Enrichment
    items
like scratching posts, climbing platforms, and outdoor
enclosures to give the cats the mental and physical stimulation they need
    while they wait.

  • Medical
    care
for cats who need vaccinations, treatments, or surgeries before
    being relocated.

No donation is too small. Every dollar will help us take one step closer to giving these cats the safe, temporary home they deserve.

Because of your generosity, our feisty feline recruits will receive the care, training, and second chances they need to thrive in their new “posts” as natural pest control pros.  You're not just a donor, you're a Barn Cat Hero!

Animal Rescue Connections (ARC) is committed to making a big difference in people’s and animals’ lives. Primarily serving Comal County and Northern Bexar County, we are a foster-based organization with volunteers who are passionate about adoption, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and community assistance.

Who We Are

Like the animals that come our way, Animal Rescue Connections (ARC) may be small but we make a big difference in people’s and animals’ lives. Primarily serving Comal County and Northern Bexar County, ARC is a foster-based organization with volunteers who are passionate about our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), adoption, and helpline programs.

These best-of-the-best volunteers make a difference in the plight of street cats by implementing the TNR method to solve the cat overpopulation issues. ARC's feral feeders take care of many colonies of cats throughout the Bulverde area. They also work to give animals a chance to have a great future through our adoption program.

Our helpline volunteers never know what surprise the next phone call will present but we can give advice for many issues involving pet cats and dogs, feral cats, lost and found, wildlife, or farm animals. Our “connections,” developed over the years, make it possible to give and get the help needed to solve diverse problems. We work hard to ensure that every animal that crosses our path is successfully helped to a better future.
