Every year, the Animal Rescue League of NH helps more than 2,000 animals. Our motto is “we’re more than a shelter.” We bring this to life through the support of our partners and donors, who enable us to offer community-based services to low-income families including low-cost spay/neuter clinics, a pet food pantry, and one-time financial assistance for extraordinarily expensive medical procedures.
We are also proud to offer Safe Haven, a program to temporarily house and care for the pets belonging to victims of domestic violence and natural disasters. Our programs focus on keeping companion animals in their loving homes. For the unfortunate instances when people become overwhelmed with pet care or become neglectful or abusive, our Director of Outreach and Investigations (one of only four in NH) is able to intervene on the pet’s behalf—transporting animals from around the state to our shelter to be cared for until we find them a loving home.
