The Animal Support Project was formed in memory of a little dog named Julia whose owner shot and killed her for soiling his rug. The founders decided that what happened to Julia should never happen to another pet. Our mission is to proactively reduce animal suffering with a focus on helping pets stay where they belong: at home with their family. We do this through animal crisis intervention: behavior training, grooming, transportation, veterinary care, and more, for all species. When appropriate we offer foster care and re-homing. We also encourage spay/neuter and participate in animal disaster response. We are an all-volunteer group that does not charge for the services we provide. We do this in memory of Julia and all the animals who die or suffer because their owners just don't know how to or can't afford to do the right thing.
