Another Level for Women

When "Debra" heard about Another Level For Women, she was facing pending disconnect of her electricity and gas. Her husband had left the marriage leaving her with 2 children to care for, no income, and a 3-day notice!  ALFW helped her to stay connected, she attended workshops learned some money management skills, and for the first time, opened her very own bank account!

Another Level For Women is a faith based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial, emotional, and educational support services for women in our community, particularly extremely low-income women with children.  By alleviating the devastating aftereffects of unaddressed issues, Another Level For Women helps to end the cycles of family destruction that can occur throughout generations, by helping women heal.

Clients develop a sense of purpose. A woman who is whole, restored, free is an asset to her family, her community, and all those who encounter her, she can bring wholeness, restoration, and freedom into situations and lives. She carries her children into her transformation. Her life, her individual personal story is a living testimony of love, healing, and encouragement!

Our mission at ALFW is to assist women who are in perilous mental, emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual bondage. No one ever intends to struggle financially. Many women begin working as adolescents, starting on the path of independence and financial stability. But, they experience life events that serve as major obstacles to achieving financial security and optimum emotional health. ALFW provides answers, support, and encouragement for women; realizing they are placed in a powerful position to impact the lives of their families and communities.

Our vision is to transform all women to a place of wholeness in every aspect of their life and lifestyle. Literally to meet a woman at the level she’s on and help her go to another level in her life. We are here to help! So how do we help? Our services, offered through four programs, include the areas of personal development, employment preparation, financial literacy, and utility assistance. We fundraise and request private donations to provide funds so we can help ANY woman who comes to us for assistance. We can assist the working mother, who has experienced a crisis,  to help keep her job even though she may be above the “poverty income guidelines”, and disqualified to receive assistance from other programs. When a woman comes in the need is verified, paid directly to the utility company, and she is eligible to access funds 1 time per year. A requirement of our program is participation in our Financial Literacy Workshop. We don’t want to ever have to turn a woman away. ALFW is committed to providing utility assistance to our clients. So each time we pay a bill and teach a financial literacy class we are making a huge difference for a family.

Our success is defined by the changes in awareness, knowledge, and attitudes we see in ourselves, our staff, and the women we serve. When a woman is transformed with even a small change, we know it impacts her children and family too!
