Anthropedia Foundation

Anthropedia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, educational organization that teaches individuals, professionals, and nonprofits ways to cultivate mental health and well-being in order to decrease rates of lifestyle- and stress-related illness. Since 2004, Anthropedia has promoted sustainable mental health and well-being through research, training, and coaching programs that benefit diverse populations. Anthropedia's mission is to decrease the rates of lifestyle and stress-related diseases by helping individuals and institutions live healthier lifestyles and thereby not simply managing stress, but avoiding it before it begins. Our name is our mission. We educate (pedia) people on how to express their full human (anthropos) potential.

Over the last 15 years, Anthropedia has cultivated relationships with experts in a wide range of fields in order to develop an interdisciplinary approach to health and well-being. This led to the creation of our scientific advisory board, the Anthropedia Institute, and based on the expertise of the Institute, Anthropedia has developed an interdisciplinary, evidence-based program that cultivates preventive mental health and healthy lifestyles, and addresses the root causes of mental illness.

Anthropedia and our trained coaches have served thousands of individuals worldwide. To examine and improve the effectiveness of our methods, Anthropedia has studied over 2,650 unduplicated individuals receiving coaching. Target populations have included the parents, students, teachers, homeless men and women, individuals with substance use disorders, criminal justice-involved individuals, helping professionals, and others. Our approach has been shown to increase character development, as measured by the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI), and subjective well-being.
