Apna Ghar, Inc.

Apna Ghar provides critical, comprehensive, and culturally competent services to survivors of gender violence - a global human rights violation and public health concern. In over 30 years, we have served over 100,000 survivors and community members.

We address the needs of immigrant and refugee Asian and Pacific Islander communities across the city of Chicago. This includes advocacy around racialized misogyny, reproductive justice, anti-Asian hate, and support for Rohingya and Afghan refugees in Chicago, particularly those impacted by gender-based violence.  

After the domestic violence related murder of Sania Khan, the recent spate of shootings of Asian American Pacific women, and the ongoing Anti-Asian misogyny across the country, Apna Ghar's mission to end gender violence against and within the AAPI community is more important than ever.  We achieve this goal through a holistic model of direct services, advocacy, and outreach. 

During the month of May, you can help! With your donation, Apna Ghar can:

• Provide 1 survivor with books and e-learning tools for children ($250)
• Provide 10 survivors with 1 hour of telephone counseling ($500)
• Provide provide comprehensive services for 1 survivor for 6 months ($1,000)
