Mission

The Appleseed Foundation's mission is to build a just society through legal advocacy, community activism, and policy expertise. We work locally to address root causes and produce practical, systemic solutions. We strive for a society in which opportunities are genuine, access to the law is universal and equal, and power is used to advance the public interest

Programs

Appleseed organizes, supports, and assists a national network of sixteen independent Centers working to address a range of issues in their communities. We provide seed funding to new Centers through challenge grants, help recruit diverse, committed Boards of Directors, and provide assistance in organizational development, fundraising, project development, leadership development, and networking.
