AquAbility develops independence and ability, enhances health and fitness, increases self-esteem, and improves quality of life for people with disabilities.
AquAbility was founded in 2010 by director Karen Morrison. AquAbility currently has ongoing programs at Boise State University in Boise, and in Ketchum, Idaho.
We work with children, adults and veterans with disabilities including but not limited to: spinal cord injuries, Cerebral Palsy, spina bifida, Parkinson's, Down Syndrome, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, Autism, and Developmental disabilities.
AquAbility's unique program has many benefits for people with disabilities: increases self-esteem, improves physical, cognitive, and functional ability, encourages and cultivates positive social interaction, and independence.
For most people with disabilities, aquatic activity can be done without any kind of assistance. This is a priceless freedom!
It is exciting for parents to see their child with a disabiity function independently in the water for the first time - and for a Veteran to relearn ability after injury.
Veterans with disabilities rediscover physical activity thgough swimming, and establish lifetime fitness habits.
Your donations help us to maintain and expand our growing programs so that we can continue to help more people with disabilities.
AquAbility is a chapter of Move United.
