Aquarium of Boise

The Aquarium of Boise is the only place of its kind in Idaho. It is an interactive aquarium where children and adults can touch, feed, and learn about each individual animal. Come be a part of the aquarium family, explore the ocean with your own hands, and leave with the greatest memories!

History: Our organization was established in 2013 and our mission is to inspire the community to conserve and protect ocean life. We operate out of a commercial warehouse facility at the corner of Franklin Blvd. and Cole Rd. Our facility comprises approximately 10,000 sq. feet of educational space, with over 35 exhibits and 300 different species of animals. Approximately 80% of the aquarium's inhabitants at invertebrates (without backbones) and the remaining 20% at the vertebrates (fish, sharks, birds, reptiles and frogs).

Future: The Aquarium of Boise is currently expanding and we need your help. We have added a new 1200 gallon North Pacific Exhibit to upgrade the previous exhibit. We renovated our existing building space to include an additional 5,000 sq. feet of educational space, which includes an educational multi-purpose Marine Science Academy, Quaratine facility, marine biology Laboratory, Food and Animal Care Food Preparation Room, exhibits and much more. Our new Marine Science Academy opened in January 2015 and Reptile Exhibit wall opened in January 2015.  We are looking to expand our Shark and Ray exhibit in the future and we need your help.  The Aquarium is looking to expand and lengthen the size and dimensions of the Shark and Ray exhibit.  Your donations will help us to meet our fundraising goals.

Community: We rely on the the communities continued support to operate the aquarium. This includes funding the care and veterinary treatment of animals in our care, as well as providing a community resource for animals that are donated to the aquarium. We are also connected to the local schools and universities in our area, and have provided the students access to the aquarium to learn and explore, create science experiments and internship opportunities for future marine biologists and teachers.

Your Donation to Idaho Gives and the Aquarium of Boise helps us to keep this misison going into the future! Last year, alone, we had over 200,000 visitors to the Aquarium of Boise, which included over 37,000 students. Thank you for your support!
