Arboretum Coffee

A nonprofit organization

Arboretum Coffee is more than a coffee shop. We’re a nonprofit apprenticeship program in Fort Collins that provides job training, mentorship, and career pathways for immigrants and refugees.

Through our paid 10 to 18-month apprenticeship, participants gain:

  • Real work experience in a supportive environment

  • English practice and life-skills classes

  • One-on-one mentorship

  • Support with career goals and education

  • A community that sees them as leaders

Your gift powers this model and opens the door for more people to grow.

At Arboretum, we believe in the power of community to transform lives and the future we want to see isn’t far off. It’s already growing. Just ask Allie.

When Allie, a twenty-six year old from Haiti, moved to the U.S., she dreamed of becoming a CNA. She joined Arboretum’s apprenticeship program just a few months later, ready to work, but unsure how to take her next step.

Throughout the program, she practiced English with her mentor, built confidence behind the bar, and began preparing for her dream career in healthcare.

Then, just two weeks before graduation, Allie lost her work authorization. She suddenly couldn’t work and didn’t know what would happen next. But she didn’t give up.

A donor stepped in to fund her CNA class. She studied hard, passed her certification exam, and this fall, with her authorization reinstated, she started a full-time healthcare job with benefits.

Arboretum kept me going and got me here. I am so thankful. They are family.” — Allie

Allie’s story isn’t just about resilience. It’s about what blooms when someone is supported, seen, and believed in.

And she’s not the only one.

Every year, immigrants walk through our doors carrying untold stories, unseen potential, and unmatched courage. Through Arboretum’s paid apprenticeship program, they leave with more than just job skills. They leave with confidence, language, purpose, and a sense of belonging.

We’re not just training baristas. We’re nurturing mentors, culture-makers, and leaders.

In a moment when immigrants are criminalized, excluded, or pushed to the margins, Arboretum is doing something different:

🌱 Building systems rooted in dignity, not scarcity
🌱 Creating spaces of healing, growth, and opportunity
🌱 Investing in people, not just programs

Your gift helps provide:
