This is Arcadia Players' 28th season, presenting concerts by Vivaldi, Handel, Purcell and by Arcadia Viols.
Our next concert is the annual holiday performance of Messiah which will take place on Friday December 22nd 2017 at Mount Holyoke College, Abbey Chapel.
On January 21, 2018 the Arcadia Viols with voices and keyboard will take place at Wesley United Methodist Church in Hadley. This 17th century German Baroque program will feature composers rarely heard such as Schein, Scheidt, Schutz, Rosenmuller and Tunder.
"The Glory of Purcell" will take place on April 15th in partnership with the Henry Purcell Society of Boston. A glorious concert of instrumental and vocal music by the "Orpheus of Britain" including Come Ye Sons of Art, an ode for the birthday of Queen Mary is not to be missed!
Ticket sales typically cover less than 40% of the cost of providing this beautiful music; we encourage you to support Arcadia Players on Giving Tuesday with a tax-deductible donation. Your generosity helps enormously in keeping Arcadia Players alive and thriving, and supports an ambitious 2017-18 season. In addition, your gift may be matched dollar for dollar - just look for "donation matching" to the right or below the large photo!
Arcadia Players’ music is entirely produced here in the Pioneer Valley by a local Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, and by professional musicians from New England, directed by Ian Watson. Although most of our concerts are performed locally, Arcadia Players contributes to the early music scene in the Boston and Worcester areas as well.
