The Arc of Lincoln was founded by parents of children with special needs in 1952. They advocated for their children so that they could lead full lives. Ever since then the Arc of Lincoln has evolved to help meet the needs of people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Currently, the Arc serves as an advocate, maintians 10 houses and 3 duplexes, and runs vacation, inclusive recreation, self-advocacy, sibling support, and social programs.
