Arizona Classical Ballet Performing Company- Yuma

Arizona Classical Ballet was born out of the dreams of Erika Farrar Romanyuk, and her husband Pavel Romanyuk, to create a Performing Company that focuses on Excellence in dance while developing strong moral character in dancers and providing unique opportunities for the community to experience ballet and the arts.

Opened in 2009, and dedicated to the memory of her husband Pavel, ACB grew quickly and in 2012 received a Yuma Community Foundation Grant for their community outreach project, Literature in Motion, an initiative to bring the arts to students that would not normally have the opportunity. Literature in Motion highlighted several forms of art including Ballet, graphic arts in the backdrops, music and vocals, all collaborating to bring students a unique multidisciplinary experience.

ACB continues to provide Literature in Motion each year in addition to a Spring Jubilee and a Year-end Recital. As ACB grows summer workshops and additional community outreach projects are planned.

As ACB strives to expand unique educational opportunities for all dancers in Yuma, including students from lower socioeconomic demographics the staff endeavors to explore fundraising and grant opportunities.

Future projects include a summer workshop bringing talent from across the country to Yuma for a week culminating in a recital at the Historic Yuma Theater. Additional outreach, in collaboration with local community resources, to bring opportunities to learn about dance and ballet. Literature in Motion outreach to local elementary schools, expanding outreach to San Luis, Wellton and Somerton. Funding also supports the development of costumes, sets, and props for future productions reducing the costume and performing fees thereby allowing all of the benefits of participating in dance to be more accessible to the community.
