Arizona Council on Economic Education

A nonprofit organization

Our Mission

We offer economic and financial literacy programs at low or no cost thanks to financial support from corporations, small businesses, foundations, and individuals. Founded in 1997, the ACEE has impacted thousands of teachers and hundreds of thousands of students.

Our Vision

The ACEE envisions a world where all school-aged children are empowered through economic and personal financial literacy to make informed and rational choices throughout their lives as consumers, savers and investors, workers, entrepreneurs, citizens, and participants in a global economy.

Our Strategy

Our strategy to deliver the programs and services is three-fold: training Arizona K-12 teachers, direct service to students and community outreach. By empowering teachers and parents who are most involved in children’s daily lives, change in children’s financial literacy and economic education is more sustainable.

Our Programs

  • Training Arizona K-12 teachers: ACEE conducts comprehensive K-12 economic and personal finance education in alignment with AZ Department of Education standards for each grade level. We reach 1100 teachers annually, impacting approximately 150,000 students.
  • Direct service to students: statewide Stock Market Game, Finance Challenge and Economics Challenge competitions for K-12 students. Approximately 10,000 students participate in these competitions each year. Arizona teams have placed top places at the national level. 58% of students are low income or at-risk.
  • Community Outreach: Outreach to low income schools to conduct parent and children financial literacy after-school programs.
