The ADC is a statewide, membership-based organization connecting dance communities with the general public through Dance Festivals (classes/performances), Master Classes (all genres, guest artists from across the country), an online Calendar of Events (statewide), and the Arizona Dance e-Star - a 20+ page monthly e-publication listing events, articles, photos, announcements, links to other orgs and articles that are newsworthy for the dance community and the general public. It contains TIPS for business, health, costuming, and organization. A member is also featured in addition to a Photo of the Month. To subscribe (for free), visit www.AzDanceCoalition.org and fill in the box below the JOIN button.

Membership is available to individuals (fans are welcome too) $20/yr, organizations/dance companies $50/yr, venues, presenters $100/yr and sponsors $150+.

ADC has been a sponsor and supporter of Dancer's and Health Together's National Dance Day, choreographed the AZ Diamondbacks Dance Day event with 200+ dancers in collaboration with the Arizona Dance Education Organization and Desert Dance Theatre, sponsored dance instructors to teach Lindy Hop in the schools in collaboration with jazz music shows, co-sponsored a school performance by NY dance company, H.T. Chen & Dancers, co-hosted free master class by Dance Theatre of Harlem along with Dance Theater West, sponsored by ASU Gammage, and applied for grants to co-sponsor the annual Arizona Dance Festival to feature AZ dance companies from around the state and from out-of-town. ADC has facilitated the Arizona Dance Festival post show Q & A for several years.

Since 2009 ADC has united tap dance communities through the National TAP Dance Day Celebration and the Sounds of the Soles of the Southwest performances. It introduced the first Dance Festival of Southern Arizona in Oct 2013 offering 30 dance classes (high school dance groups and the general public) in Folklorico, Jazz, Ballet/Variation, Modern, Hip Hop, QiGong for Dancers, Polyrhythms, Tap, Flamenco, Salsa Clave Exploration, and JUNK FUNK Percussive Movement Art. The festival performance - STEP to the Rhythm, DANCE to the Rhythm - featured more than 22 performances from Central and Southern Arizona.

We hope to continue to make more connections as we advocate for dance arts and dancing for all. Projects are in the works to create a special events and publication on dance for the consumer, and benefit performances and classes on behalf of a "cause" - Alzheimer's, Cancer, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, etc.

SCHOLARSHIPS - We are still organizing a Scholarship Fund for dance education. The level of poverty for children in Tucson is the highest in the nation. We need to be able to give children in this state an opportunity to learn a "fine art" that utilizes the entire brain and body, and teaches life skills that will help them succeed in school, work, and life. The discipline and focus demanded in dance education produces citizens that can problem-solve, make presentations under pressure to large audiences (and appear calm), make excellent employees, creative thinkers, and the list goes on and on. Plus, the health benefits carry on into later in life by reducing the risk of dementia and showing greater bone density as they age - two of the biggest medical issues facing the elderly today.

Your donations will make a difference in how well we will be able to execute our projects and fulfill our goals. If you would like to become involved, believe in the magic of dance (education & performance), we'd love to hear from you.
