MISSION (2016)

The Arizona Dental Foundation keeps Arizona smiling by responding to the oral health needs of vulnerable populations.  We do this by mobilizing volunteers; identifying and linking resources; and providing educational opportunities for dental professionals.

Prevention which sustains and maintains oral and systemic health;

And treatment that inspires compassion to provide quality services.

MILESTONES

1987    Established for professional education and a private/public lending library.

1998    Purchased a facility for a hygiene school. Partner Rio Salado Community College graduated over 300 students in the first ten years of operations. 

2007    Organizational shift to include charity care. 

2009    Implemented an intensive, hands-on, special needs dentistry program that trained over 100 dentists in a three year period on the unique challenges of serving developmentally disabled children and adults.

2013    Developed the Arizona Community Dental Clinic as a safety net response to the oral health needs of seniors and medically fragile individuals who lost Medicaid dental benefits during the great recession. During its four years in operation, 1,000 vulnerable citizens received $1.5 million in vital dental treatment.
