Located just one mile east of downtown Arlington and situated just south of the Entertainment District, The Meadowbrook Sculpture Garden is the focal point of the historic Meadowbrook Park, Arlington's first city park and its' first municipal golf course, both of which opened in 1924.
In 2006, a local Arlington Rotary Club thought it would be a cultural endeavor and challenge to establish a privately-funded sculpture garden in Meadowbrook Park. That first sculpture, classic bronze titled "Blue Sky Dream" by acclaimed sculptor Seth Vandable, was followed by more sculptures (7 total currently) via an eclectic selection of Texas artists, all situated beneath a spreading canopy of shading Post Oak trees near the park entrance off Abram Street (east of South Collins Street two blocks to Dugan Street). The Arlington Sculpture Garden Foundation and Arlington Parks and Recreation Department cooperatively maintain the garden for public enjoyment.
The free and accessible Sculpture Garden offers a walking path, comfortable seating in a creekside setting not to mention an amazing view of the nearby Entertainment Center anchored by the nearby massive sports facilities - AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys) and Globe Life Field (home of the Texas Rangers ball club).
Contributions to the Sculpture Garden or underwriting of the new projects, which can include dedications, are happily accepted for this cultural garden.
