ART from the ashes

ART from the ashes (AFTA) is a Southern CA based 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission intersects art, community and ecology.  

Founded in 2007, AFTA’s initiatives are part of the long-term recovery process to support communities impacted by wildfire.  Our creative platform provides a cathartic avenue for healing and inspiration.  

By integrating reclaimed fire site materials, organic elements and imagery of altered terrain into the creative process; ART from the ashes' works of art  symbolize renewal and the transformative power of art.

Within the framework of AFTA’s arts programming we invite conversation and foster awareness about California’s ecology, climate challenges and how we can adapt and evolve to become fire resilient communities.

 Our programming is made possible by contributing artists, volunteers, donations, grants and sponsors.
