Arthritis Foundation Mid-Atlantic

Over 50 million Americans (1-in-5 adults) and 300,000 children are affected by the chronic pain and disability of arthritis or a related disease. The Mid Atlantic Region serves the more than 5.7 million people with doctor-diagnosed arthritis residing in Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carloina and South Carolina.

The mission is achieved through focus on three areas:

• Research grants to find a cure for arthritis
  (More than $400 million in research grants have been provided since 1948)
• Public Health Programs
  (including certified exercise programs and educational seminars); and
• Advocacy at all government levels on behalf of people with arthritis.
