Founded in 2019 by Jose Rosales and Alfonso Meraza, former principal soloists of the renowned Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández in Mexico City, ArtistiCO started as a multi-faceted organization encompassing a dance studio, dance academy, artisanal store, and professional dance company. Unfortunately, due to the widespread impact of COVID-19, ArtistiCO faced unexpected challenges and had to close its doors a few months after its establishment. However, they swiftly adjusted to the circumstances and transformed into a virtual platform. This allowed students of all ages to safely participate in classes taught by experienced dance instructors from around the world. Additionally, ArtistiCO collaborated with various local and international organizations to offer virtual performances, providing people with a means to stay connected to the arts during these unprecedented times. 

After overcoming the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, ArtistiCO is proud to announce the acquisition of our very own studio located in the bustling Santa Fe Arts District in Denver, Colorado. This strategic investment represents our dedication to preserving and promoting Mexican Folklore in Colorado, with the intention of providing future generations with access to our programs. Our newly established dance studio will serve as the hub for our renowned dance academy and professional dance company. 

At ArtistiCO Dance Academy, we provide an exceptional dance education that stands out in the community. Our program goes beyond teaching dance techniques; it embraces cultural celebration and artistic expression through movement. With instruction from renowned artists in traditional ballet folklórico and other dance genres, our academy offers top-quality training. We prioritize the all-round development of our students, fostering their intellectual, social, emotional, and artistic abilities.

 In the southwest region of the United States, ArtistiCO Dance Company stands as the premier Ballet Folklorico Dance Company. Our mission is to honor and promote the technique and artistic legacy left by Amalia Hernandez, the esteemed founder of Ballet Folklorico de Mexico. Our professional performing company comprises more than 20 highly experienced dancers, each with a minimum of 10 years of dance expertise. They undergo comprehensive training in various dance forms, including Mexican folklórico, classical Spanish dance, jazz, tap, ballet, modern, and Latin fusion. Additionally, while pursuing their careers in diverse sectors, they also act as cultural ambassadors and inspiring figures for the Latinx community.
