Founded in early 2007, Art on Wheels’ mission is to bring comprehensive arts programming to communities with limited access to the arts. Our intent to make arts education accessible to all ages and abilities was derived from co-founders Andrea and Kevin Orlosky’s personal, transformative and healing experiences in the arts. Their desire to broaden the scope of arts outreach to marginalized populations without access to services represents an innovative approach to arts programming thus far unseen in the region.

In an effort to expose participants to exceptional enrichment experiences, Art on Wheels’ comprehensive curriculum covers Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Textiles and Photography processes. Specialized equipment such as portable printmaking presses and photographic exposure units offer unique and challenging learning experiences for populations whom historically have had very low arts exposure. Programs are entirely customized and adaptive to ensure age and ability appropriate programming while gently pushing participant limitations in a positive and sensitive manner. Traveling with all supplies to instruct participants in their own facilities enables us to affect populations who face difficulties accessing conventional opportunities. While workshop and short term programming is available, emphasis is placed on establishing long term, recurrent programming to secure maximum health benefit for participants.
