ArtReach provides access to relevant and dynamic visual arts education for TK-12 schools and youth-serving organizations throughout San Diego County. Since our founding in 2007, ArtReach has served over 60,000 students through artist residencies, mural programs, and community partnerships.
Thousands of students in San Diego County schools have no access to visual arts education programs. ArtReach exists to help fill this gap by crafting lasting and meaningful creative experiences for young artists that would not otherwise have the resources.
Just $10 makes the transformative power of hands-on artmaking accessible to one young artist.
$100 funds a full year of art programs for that same student.
When we lead with compassion and heart, we see pressure dissolve and authentic creative exploration unfold
ArtReach's visual arts education programs are inspired by relevant, contemporary visual arts practices that focus on creating spaces for expression by fostering growth, community, and connection in the classroom.
Our Teaching Artists provide a conduit for igniting the creativity within each young person, helping students process and express feelings, foster community with peers, and build self-esteem in a supportive yet challenging environment.
Learn about Residency Programs
All humans should be valued, seen, and heard
We believe art and creative practice play a crucial role in human development and are an essential part of education for all. Our in-class lessons are Social-Emotional Learning aligned, prioritizing well-being, creativity, and balance in the classroom.
ArtReach provides free and discounted visual art programs for Title I elementary schools that need more financial resources to fund a visual arts program for their students.
Art brings people together and builds belonging and connectedness
We believe in the power of youth voice, active listening, and self-expression without judgment. The ArtReach Mural Program taps into students' innate creativity and builds confidence, teamwork, and leadership while creating something transformative and lasting for their school and community.
Our Mural Teaching Artists work directly with youth, from concept to completion, to dream up significant collaborative works representing their vision.
Amplify feelings of collective ownership, belonging, and pride
We aim to enhance visual arts education for San Diego residents by facilitating direct connections between local Artists and the public. Community Programs offer a range of free and affordable hands-on art workshops, including in-house studio classes, after-school art clubs, and in-school sessions.
By providing these opportunities, we establish a nurturing and creative space that encourages self-expression and fosters a supportive learning environment for all.
