When people ask me what will happen at ArtReach in the year ahead, I hesitate to predict.

That is the magic of working in the arts.

As a collective and a community, we bring talented, insightful people together to share the work they have been creating—often in isolation. ArtReach designs opportunities through the exhibition gallery, Big Read programming and the Mobile Art Gallery, among others, to mix and meld these ideas together. The result is hard to capture in advance. It requires experiencing the full creative process.

ArtReach St. Croix is part of the artistic process as the presenter, promoter, host and venue. You are part of the process too! You have insights and gain access to ideas, experiences and community. What will resonate years from now? You decide.

While the magic is in the art, the coordination that it takes to bring things to fruition is the work of ArtReach St. Croix. Your gift today powers the meaningful programming of the year ahead. Here are a few 2026 highlights: On view at ArtReach St. Croix starting in mid‑February will be a national touring exhibition from the Handweavers Guild of America. Small Expressions is a juried showcase of contemporary small‑scale fiber art using weaving, interlacing, basket making, bead weaving, embroidery, felting or mixed media. ArtReach is one of only four locations in the nation for this show!

In April, ArtReach will host NEA Big Read in the St. Croix Valley around Diane Wilson's novel The Seed Keeper—a river story. "The river was the pulse of our people, flowing through generations," says the book's protagonist. As a resident of Scandia, Diane Wilson believes this Big Read will be “the one with heart,” as it connects to her home community. The month will culminate with Diane sharing a love letter to the St. Croix, written for this occasion. This summer, the Mobile Art Gallery will present Art of The Stamp, a touring exhibition to mark the 250th anniversary of the US Postal Service. Think about it, among other things, stamps are a wonderful way to distribute public art!

We count on your support to power the meaningful programs that happen all around the Valley—all year long. Being an active participant and a generous donor are two great ways to keep the Valley connected, creative and welcoming.
