Arts Connection

Arts Connection is dedicated to stimulating creative and economic vitality and enriching lives throughout the communities we serve by providing support, promotion, education, and advocacy for the arts.

We were established in 2012, as an independent nonprofit organization,  and designated by San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to serve as the state and local partner to the California Arts Council.   Arts Connection was created to share knowledge and resources, supporting initiatives that engage, encourage and advocate community building through the arts, and offering funding solutions for progressive projects, art groups and artists. We work to  promote cooperation and collaboration among county and city arts agencies in planning, programming, and policy development.

One of our big projects scheduled for spring of 2018 is working with artist collective, Fallen Fruit to create a living artwork composed of fruit trees! The project will take place at The Garcia Center for the Arts in the City of San Bernardino, with satellite locations in the surrounding neighborhood. It will include a variety of citrus trees, hand-crafted wooden picnic tables etched with community quotes, and be accompanied by a suite of public participatory projects, culminating in a zine and an exhibition. Printmaker Bob Hurton (aka Uncle Bacon), and Inlandia’s Poet Laureate, Nikia Chaney, will work with Fallen Fruit and community participants on the creation of the Zine.

Fallen Fruit San Bernardino is made possible through an Artists Activating Communities grant from the California Arts Council, and the San Bernardino City Fine Arts Commission. Much of the work that we do is made possible through grant funding, however the majority of these grants require matching funds--  and that's why we are asking for your help!
