Asha for Women Inc

ASHA for Women (Asian Women's Self-Help Association, Inc.) is a non-profit organization committed to ending all forms of violence against women and enhancing the status of South Asian women living in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Since its inception in 1989, ASHA for Women has been providing community-based, culturally competent support and services to South Asian survivors of domestic violence. ASHA for Women was born from a tradition of South Asian women’s organizing efforts and is deeply positioned within the South Asian community.  It uses the considerable social capital it has painstakingly earned over the last twenty years to provide services for survivors and their children and educate for social change. Today, ASHA remains one of the few resources South Asian women trust to assist them with escaping violence.
