Ashley's Kitten Academy (AKA) was created by founder Ashley Morrison to support her rescue expenses, but mostly to be able to give grants to other rescue volunteers who didn't have the social media reach that she had to raise funds. Working in TNR (Trap Neuter Release) is exhausting work in and of itself. It is all volunteer and typically at the rescue worker's expense. The need is vast and seems to be never-ending. Most of this work is done by people who don't have social media pages, and even if they do, they don't have enough followers to support their needs. At AKA, we give out grants to support these folks so they can do the hard work that they so selflessly do. We applaud them and love supporting them. Our grants are currently focused in the Pacific Northwest, but we hope to expand this in the future.
