Asian Art Museum

The Asian Art Museum is home to an awe-inspiring 6,000 years of art and culture. We’re turning 50 this year!

The Asian Art Museum opened in 1966, just before the Beatles’ final concert in Candlestick Park, as construction was starting on a revolutionary transit system called BART. While that may feel like the distant past, the museum’s role of fostering exchange and understanding has never been more important.
