Asian Health Services provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services to more than 50,000 patients in low-income and immigrant communities in 12 different Asian languages. As one of three nationally recognized anti-Asian hate action centers tapped to pilot and  address the safety needs of patients and community, we are on the ground ensuring health is possible regardless of cultural, generational, and linguistic barriers. We are dedicated to ensuring community healing and safety and addressing racially-motivated violence. 

In the summer of 2022, a 26-year old patient, who is a survivor of a violent assault, connected with us. Due to the attack, she had stopped working to recover from surgery.

 This is Her Story.

“AHS was so helpful. They looked for many different resources to support my mental health and emotional well-being. They linked me to financial assistance to help support me after I was robbed. Because I couldn’t work, AHS helped find the support I needed. Thank you to all at Asian Health Services. Thank you for all of your help."

Through the support of AHS Community Healing Unit, she was able to receive medical appointments through Medi-Cal. She was provided with resources to support her mental and emotional health, and financial assistance as she recovered.

In collaboration with West Oakland Health Center, we are hosting community healing and racial solidarity events.

Asian Health Services, founded in 1974 in a one-room clinic, now serves 50,000 patients in English and 14 different languages: Cantonese, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Mien, Lao, Mongolian, Karen, Karenni, Arabic, ASL, and Burmese.  

We provide health, social, and advocacy services for all regardless of income, insurance status, immigration status, language, or culture. Our approach to wellbeing focuses on “whole patient health,” which is why we provide more than primary care services, including mental health, case management, nutrition, and dental care.
