The Asian American Federation (AAF) is a leadership organization representing the collective voice of 70 community-based organizations serving 1.3 million Asian Americans, the fastest-growing population in New York City. 

We are one of the strongest leadership voices advocating for better policies, services, and funding that lead to more justice and opportunity for Asian immigrants, one of New York City's poorest and underserved communities. 

We support youth, families, workers, and seniors from more than 20 ethnic groups—diverse in language, culture, and religion—that make up New York’s Asian community, by providing expert research and unrelenting advocacy; working with lawmakers to change policies; and training the non-profits we work with to better serve their communities.

 Our work is changing the systems that are holding back our communities from achieving success. 

Rally for Dreamers in Manhattan We fought for 2.5  years to legalize e-bikes and finally won in 2020

In 2019 alone we helped over 5000 immigrants integrate into America.  

We engaged 5084 community members with our mental health program. And directly served 5045 Asian small business owners by offering them the marketing skills, knowhow and technical assistance they need to thrive in a tough market. 

As the only Census Information Center in the North East, and one of the leading organizations in New York working to increase Asian American participation in the 2020 Census, our advocacy helped to stop the citizenship question from being added to the 2020 Census. 

And in 2020, e-bike workers in NYC won freedom from excessive policing and fines, and the e-bikes they use to deliver food to New Yorkers were legalized, because of advocacy from the #DeliverJustice coalition that AAF created and spearheaded.
