La Tiendita is a 501(c)(3) grocery store located in East McKinney which has been deemed a food desert by the USDA. But we are "So Much More Than A Store."

We are a resouce and empowerment center for at-risk Latino students in the community. We do this in various ways.

Our grocery store provides access to healthy and affordable groceries such as fruits/vegetables, proteins, diary, and breads. We accept EBT. For those who do not qualify for food stamps (individuals who may have certain drug convictions or are here undocumented) we offer all our essential items at cost.

We offer an after-school snack  program where all kids and students receive free of charge a healthy snack, drink and fruit every day and free lunches during holidays and summer vacation.

Internships are offered to students that teaches social skills/etiquette, financial literacy, conflict resolution, workforce development, post secondary education and how to become leaders in their school and community.

Interns are also provided with wrap around services that extend to their family such as food security, medical assistance, employment, immigration assistance, etc., Any issue that arises that would result in the student having issues to learn or attend school we address.

Students are also taught how to prepare healthy meals through our cafe/kitchen located inside the store.

We are located at 902 Greenville Road McKinney, Texas 75069
