Assist Inc

Founded in 1969, ASSIST Inc delivers three major programs: emergency home repair for low income households throughout Salt Lake County; architectural design assistance to people with disabilities; and architectural, urban planning and develpoment assistance to nonprofit and community groups.

Above all, ASSIST believes that good design should be available to all rather than reserved for the few who can afford it.

As designer/advocates, we promote building and maintaining equitable commiunities starting with the basic building blocks every neighborhoods--our homes. From advocating that all homes be visitable to people using wheelchairs, to modifying our homes to keep us safe as we age, our efforts focus on making the built environment work for everyone.

We repair broken furnaces, leaking roofs and backed up plumbing. We design wheelchair ramps, safe bathrooms and accessible homes. For 45 years we have been providing housing and design services that fill a critical need in our communities and make the Wasatch Front a more equitable place to live.
