Through AFL's Summer Life Skills Camp, we are able to teach life skills education and training through the game of football. Here, they acquire skills and training to help them transition from being students-athlete to life as independent and productive adults. Through our NFL sponsored High School Player Development (HSPD) program, AFL Junior Player Development (JPD) program and the Heritage Begins Within “How to be a Girl” Program, we are addressing challenges facing all youth (boys and girls) across America. Our camp empathizes life skills, safety and concussion awareness, health and wellness, character development, self esteem, anti-bullying and social media awareness, not to mention football fundamentals. Through the AFL Life Skills Camp, we are giving youth a reason to say “Yes to Life.” This camp is funded with contributions and no youth that participates pays a dime.

AFL’s ROCK After School Program seeks to reduce the health issues in students by teaching the importance of proper nutrition, diets with less sugar and fatty foods and daily exercise. Physical activity is part of the daily schedule and students are required to participate. The main outcome for which we seek support is to better educate today’s youth and tomorrow’s adults on the importance of a proper diet accompanied with adequate exercise and the health risks associated with genetic makeup if neglected. The participants in our programs include children facing physical, emotional and economic hardships that create limitations. We at AFL provide avenues accessible to every child in the community.
