Atlas Youth Outreach

Atlas Youth Outreach was founded by a social worker and a counselor who had worked in Jefferson County a combined 25 years. In 2019, after seeing a need, we set out to create a new organization dedicated to being responsive to the needs of teenagers in the area. We felt it was top priority to develop trusting relationships with the population we serve so we could better understand what those needs are by developing programming with their input. Over the past five years we are happy to report that we have been able to serve over 800 teens and provided 170 groups. In that time we have seen a 180% increase in the number of teens we serve, from 110 in 2022 to 308 in 2025. From year to year we have seen consistent growth. As demand has increased, in March 2026 Atlas has expanded into a larger office space to better accommodate more youth and broaden the scope of services we provide. 

        We understand the pressures of growing up can feel insurmountable, but we believe that when adolescents are provided with compassion and understanding, they can be empowered to make amazing progress. That is why our vision has always been to provide a safe space for teens, ages 11-18, through to access mental health services through psychoeducational support groups and safe, substance-free activities that promote connection and belonging

Atlas provides services in services through two programs: Navigate and Connect.

Navigate takes a more traditional approach by providing teens guidance through cognitive behavioral therapy support groups that encourage social and emotional growth through psychoeducational mental health support groups for teenagers between the ages of 11 and 18. Connect  builds protective factors for  teens by offering connection, leadership, and community. Connect includes community events, smaller teen nights, and the Teen Advisory Board, which is composed of teens from across Jefferson County. Teens help plan, organize, and facilitate all Connect events.
