From Hope to HOME!

Becoming an Atlanta Habitat homeowner is a JOURNEY that can take years and requires dedication and hard work. Prospective homebuyers must prove they are financially ready for homeownership through steady employment and savings; they are required to complete 17 required classes - covering topics such as financial literacy, budgeting, home maintenance and community living; they will serve 250 “sweat equity” hours volunteering on home builds or in another capacity; and finally, they will spend 8 days building their new home from the ground up. All of this hard work is a powerful testament to their commitment to building a better future for their families.

As we've heard from many homebuyers, this experience is nothing short of transformative. It gives their family the stability and security to unlock new possibilities and achieve long-term success in ways they never thought possible.

In honor of Giving Tuesday, we ask you to JOIN THE JOURNEY. Your support on this special day will help another family take the path From Hope to HOME.

Mission

Atlanta Habitat for Humanity transforms communities by acting as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization through education, innovative development, partnerships, and long-term relationships with families.

Impact BEYOND THE BUILD

We annually serve over 200 new families each year with the help of our expanded programs.

This adds to our impact:

  • $6+ million annual investment in new home construction, renovations and repairs and $600,000+ in property taxes and other assessments benefit the local economy
  • Sustainable, green, permanent affordable housing solutions
  • Longstanding neighbors, primarily military veterans and elderly residents, receive aging in place services and critical repairs to make their homes safe, dry and accessible
  • ReStore donations divert thousands of tons of materials from landfills and generate $1,200,000+ annually for home building and other mission-driven programs
  • New education, entrepreneurship, and scholarship programs push homeowners further up the economic ladder
