About 2-3 of every 1,000 children in the United States are born with a detectable hearing loss in one or both ears. 90% of these children are born to hearing parents.

Most of these children can become independent communicators by learning to listen and speak WITHOUT the use of sign language or lip reading if they have access to the help they need.

Our goal at the Auditory-Verbal Center, Inc. (AVC) is to help these children and give them the Gift of Sound and Voice. In 1977, AVC started in a small room in a church with only five clients. Now, 40 years later, we have two locations (Atlanta and Macon) and a Teletherapy program seeing over 100 clients in the auditory-verbal therapy program.

With 65% of our clients on Medicaid (which only pays 15% of the auditory-verbal therapy cost), we need your support to help these children have access to our services so they can also learn to listen and speak.

Last year, with your help, we were able to serve 25% more clients, providing

auditory-verbal therapy and audiology services to families living in more than 78 counties in Georgia.

We hope you will consider making a generous donation of cash, stock, or IRA so we can continue to help even more. It will make a world of difference, I promise you.

Thank you for your continued support and friendship. We simply can’t do it without you.
